Our culinary tour is an opportunity to discover, or rediscover, Liège and its culture and history, all presented with a side serving of fascinating anecdotes.
Liège’s secrets are unveiled during the guided tour run by Discover Belgium. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will be introduced to the city’s cuisine in three carefully selected restaurants. From starter to dessert, via the main dish, we serve up the best of the “fervent city”, as Liège is known, from gastronomy to culture.
Liège, a transformed city
As the largest city in Wallonia, Liège has much to offer visitors. The city has seen a real transformation over the last decade. Place Saint-Lambert, in the city centre, is a fine example. The whole square is now pedestrianised, with the Archéoforum archaeological display housed underneath. Since 2009, Liège-Guillemins station, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, has boosted the entire surrounding area, bringing it right up to date. It now makes for a prestigious gateway to Liège and all it has to offer.
A truly fervent city
Liège does however have much more going for it:
- Saint-Paul cathedral,
- the tremendous little cafés and bistros,
- a range of fine restaurants,
- a great many shops,
- and plenty of other surprises.
Those of a more athletic bent who fancy tackling the 374 steps of the Montagne de Bueren are rewarded with an unforgettable panoramic view from the top of the Citadel.
There is so much to explore in Liège and, through this guided tour, you will uncover a multitude of aspects to the city, be they cultural or cooked up in the kitchen.
A superb opportunity for your next teambuilding event!
